Never Too Matcha

First, what colour won’t you be caught dead in? I would love to know. Lime Green or Lime Punch is one of 2018’s Pantone colour of the year and has been seen in Spring/Summer 2018 collections. Lime Punch was used by, among others, Anya Hindmarch, Pringle of Scotland and Tom Ford. The first two used the colour for sportwear-inspired fashion, while Ford used the colour for an evening dress. Designer Marta Jakubowski used this shade to make eye-catching bodysuits, while NYC designer Maryam Nassir Zadeh created bold coats and jackets.

Olive You Berry Much

Hi,

The great thing about Pinterest is that it inspires me to play with different colour combinations. I recently came across a colour palette that I am so excited to try during my next blog shoot. I asked a couple of my followers about my next hair do and I concluded on braided cornrows. My little sister calls me a sexy ant with this look, I guess I can take it lol. You know my love for linen this summer is growing so when I came across this pants at Oak and Fort in Chinook Mall, I wanted to have it. This pants are not on sale and they are cotton (not linen). I adore the colour and the high-waisted detail. Also, I was happy that I didn’t have to hem the pants #petitegirlproblems. For the petite girls out there, Oak and Fort definitely caters to our market so I guess they have truly found a customer.

Lets do the Salsa

Hi,

I recently came across this brand Rahi on shop bop and I was fascinated with the colour of the dress and the off the shoulder details. I was a bit hesitant about the length as I am a petite woman. To my surprise, it was the perfect length when I wore it and made me want to do the salsa. I felt like the lady in the red dress emoji (hehe). This dress is perfect for the summer, it is light and comfortable and has the best waist cinching effect. This dress is currently on sale (linked below along with similar dresses).

Ready or Dot

Hi,

Happy Memorial Day to my US readers, I am sure you are enjoying your extra Sunday. For the rest of my readers, hope you are excited for the week. I have to make a decision about my new hair-do, I am confused. I don’t know what look to go for (short, long or just con-rows). I am tired of wearing wigs, so I have to make a decision by tomorrow.

Summer Comeback with Linen

Hi,

I don’t know if you have noticed but Linen is making a comeback this summer. In past seasons, linen has been absent with the exception of the resort wear category as designers focused on man-made fabrics. Designers are getting braver and using linen with a minimalist approach but creating remarkable designs. For spring-summer 2018, French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus used it in a collection dedicated to his mother. Brock Collection showed the fabric’s Merchant Ivory-esque side in a bateauneckline embroidered dress and Akris upped its luxe credentials with an ecru trouser suit. This summer, look for linen to return to the forefront of fashionability. The fashion audience is embracing its credentials as a natural fibre made from flax plant with an easily traceable supply chain – not to mention its breathability and great texture. Not to mention, linen’s return helps create more sustainable collection as an eco-friendly but luxurious alternative to cotton.
