To Layer or Not: What’s the Verdict? – StyleByToyoC x Ladunni Lambo

How’s your week going? Mine has been so so to be honest. I have been having blah days but looking at how this shoot came out made me smile so I hope it makes someone’s day better.

I came across the brand during LFDW 2016 in Lagos, Nigeria and I loved how she infused Aso-oke (hand loomed cloth woven by Yoruba people of western Nigeria) in the collection. Ladunni Lambo is a womenswear brand and offers classy and sophisticated pieces for the modern day woman. I am wearing a piece from her SS17 collection (here).

As a style blogger, I am now becoming more aware about the brands I work with because there has to be a connection between the brand and my identity. I am highly impressed with this brand because it embodies African culture and modern femininity. I cannot lie I felt confident, sexy and classy (hehe). I really love this piece because of the versatile way to rock it. Ladies, which do you prefer? I can’t decide.

To be honest, if I am attending a casual dinner and want to go for the simple classy look, I would go for the look without layering and pair with mules. Attending a wedding and want to take it up a notch, layering it is. The great thing about the piece is that the aso- oke is detachable. I am actually thinking of a different way to wear it, a belt or a corset…hmmm I guess I have to try that now. I will try the look first and if it doesn’t come out right, don’t expect me to put it up hahahaha. If you love the piece, you can order yours by clicking the link below. Don’t forget to let the brand know I referred you.

Hi I saw your post in my email. I really like your style and this blog you have. The dress is beautiful and I think it is very classy and sophisticated. That’s great it is detachable, not many dresses I know of are that way. Great post!
