I am sure you are wondering, how can ever smiling fashion blogger have a bad day? It is possible because we are humans and everyone has bad days. I was doing my morning devotion today and I was listening to Mercyme (Bart) share his testimony and inspiration behind the song “Even If”. He talked about bad days and not encouraged to sing. This encouraged me to give my simple fixes when having a bad day. If you are reading this and you are having a bad day, you can try my simple fixes. Please share your simple fixes, I’m sure I can learn one or two things.
Simple Fix 1: Listen to Inspirational Songs
This is literally the first thing I do, no joke! Words are powerful. I listen to songs that encourages me and assures me everything will be all right. I specifically love listening to ShineFm Calgary (Christian Music Station) because the music makes me feel real good afterwards.
Simple Fix 2: Breathe, Smile and Talk to People Who make you laugh
Sometimes you just need to breathe, you can take a walk to clear your head and this is the time I speak to myself. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as easy as it seems but the fresh air, the little things I look at reminds me of my blessings. It’s funny how we are look at each other and think the grass is greener on the other side but you need to learn to be content and grateful for all you have. I smile a lot and that helps me a great deal because I feel when I smile, I forget all about my bad day. There’s always someone who makes you laugh, talk to them to feel better.
Simple Fix 3: Do what you love at that moment
For me, I don’t have a 9 to 5 job because I am a full time blogger at the moment. So my escape place is doing a photoshoot, it sounds corny I guess but there’s a feeling of happiness, comfort and tranquility. So I don’t know what you love, but why not try it. If you are in the office and you love to dance, Go for it but don’t let your boss catch you… LOL.
Simple Fix 4: Eat your favourite food
I love eating guys (btw, looking for a personal trainer, hehe). I don’t have a favourite food but once I eat one of my guilty pleasures (Ice cream, cupcakes, name it (it’s on my list). Just make sure, after you feel better, exercise so you don’t reap that consequence (ladies you get me).
Simple Fix 5: Shopping
There’s nothing a little retail therapy can’t fix. I definitely go crazy with shopping when I’m having a bad day. Oh boy, it works every single time. There are degrees of having a bad day but most importantly remember it can only last for how long you give it power. Yes shopping is a temporary happiness and everyone likes something new (hehe).
I hope you feel better if you are having a bad day. It takes bad days to be grateful for the good ones.
