Deconstructed or Not….That’s the Question

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!!!!

I have so many things to be thankful for and I’m currently running a giveaway on Instagram as my way of saying thank you to my followers, click here for entry details.

Fashion Blogging means so much to me and I have been in a fix lately. Do you ever feel you are stuck and can’t get out even if you have tried many options? That’s exactly how I feel with Instagram at the moment. I have been frustrated more lately because I feel I’m working hard and I’m not getting the results I want. I was recently shadow banned and my instagram hasn’t been the same ever since. If you don’t know what Instagram Shadowban is, click here. As a fashion blogger, I engage a lot on instagram with other bloggers in my niche and I guess the new instagram algorithm isn’t having it because I have seen a decrease in engagement on my page. Don’t get me wrong, I am not obsessed with Instagram if that’s what you are thinking, I am simply building a brand. I was encouraged last week by my colleagues in the blogging industry because we are experiencing the decline in engagement. It was a good way to vent my frustrations with people who understand. I have finally decided to keep doing what I love regardless of the numbers (likes, comments, impressions, etc…name it ) and truly praying this phase will pass.

I remember when I started blogging and would be hoping that one day brands will reach out to me and want to partner with me. If you are new to blogging, I want to encourage you to keep doing what you love and one day the hard work will pay off (it’s so easy for me to encourage others, but myself hmm). I am definitely waiting for the day I get picked up in a private jet to watch a fashion show (milan, paris, I’m open minded lol).

Great news though, I got approached recently by the brand TOBI, an online fashion retailer based in Los Angeles, California. They were interested in a collaboration and I must say I was shocked and excited (all the feelings at the same time). I set goals for myself when I started blogging and it is such an amazing feeling when things written become reality. NO DREAM IS TOO BIG. Write down your goals, trust me it’s motivation to read it everyday. They sent few pieces and the dress shirt is one of my favourite pieces from the brand. I have been the girl with 80% of my clothes from Zara or H&M but I must say Tobi has definitely caught my attention. I had a million ways racing in my mind of how I wanted to rock this shirt. I decided to opt for the white wrap skirt taking a risk and I loved how it turned out. What do you think? Do you like the combo? One of the perks of this shirt is that you can wear it in different ways, in the fall I can wear with distressed jeans and put a black coat/cardigan.

P.S. TOBI is having a 50% off dresses online and they ship to 150+ countries, I should ask about Nigeria though because I didn’t see it on the list. Use the Code DR50, hurry because the sale ends 11:53pm October 10, 2017.
