I must have caught the “Tropical Fever”

Don’t get scared I don’t have an actual fever, lol. Do you know tropical prints are the new florals for Spring 2018? These prints hit the runway with Fenty Puma, Michael Kors, Baja East and Gucci and are here to stay. I have seen different prints from the banana leaves to hibiscus flowers and I knew I was going to catch the bug soon.

I recently just found the brand Tanya Taylor and I have been mesmerized with her collections. Did you know that each print begins with a hand painting done by the team in the New York Studio? I love art and yes I can’t paint or draw to save my life but i’m one who knows how to appreciate beautiful prints. The Tanya Taylor collection has a feminine yet modern flair and the use of colors is just breathtaking. The collection has been worn by Celebrities such as Michelle Obama, Sophia Trudeau, Beyonce, Tracee Ellis Ross and so many more beautiful ladies. The Canadian designer has won my heart with her Spring 2018 Ready to wear collection and for a woman of colour like me, the dresses and I – best match made in heaven.

The details of the Virginia dress was what drew my attention to the dress. The neckline which can be tied as an halter or tucked in and worn as a strapless is a verstalie approach to the dress. I loved the striped contrast against the print and the colors was just the perfect mix of pink and blue. The ruched details helps to create flattering curves at the right spots. As a petite blogger, I usually stay away from maxi dresses but this dress was the perfect length for me and of course I paired with my Sophia Webster Sandals.

You know I had to pair this dress with the perfect accessory so I got bauble bar beaded earrings to complete the look.

Have a beautiful Tuesday:)
