Yesterday was a long day but it was fun (check previous post & instastories).
Calgary Stampede runs from July 6 – July 15 2018 and the biggest event in Calgary bringing tourists from all over the world. From chuckwagon races, world-famous rodeo, concerts, food (creative combos), attractions all celebrating western heritage.
If you were wondering what outfit I wore to the Stampede grounds, here it is. I wanted something chic yet casual. It’s not secret that plaid shirts are one of the key elements for stampede style. I didn’t want the typical button down plaid shirt so I opted for an off-shoulder plaid top creating a more chic look. What do you think of the bold red lips? Calgary MUA Annika slayed this face, if you are dark-skinned and looking for a makeup artist she’s the ONE.
How is your week going? Mine is going pretty well. Tuesday Night was movie night and had a chance to watch “Girls Trip”. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the movie and it was hilarious. I have to commend Tiffany Haddish who played Dina in the movie, she killed her role. She definitely brought her A+ game. In every girl squad, there are different personalities but there’s always a crazy one? I think in my group, I definitely get the award for the crazy and funny one, LOL. In your group, which one are you? I would love to know.
Any plans this weekend?
Do you remember when Carrie Bradshaw wore the newspaper print Dior dress on SATC? Couple of years back I fell in love with the newspaper print by Ituen Basi, a Nigerian Designer. The newspaper print is part of the Double Take collection. The designer used iconic images from her previous work to create the newsworthy fabric. This piece is definitely a timeless one and a conversation starter.
How was Labor day? Any shopping spree or amazing discounts? Please share!
It’s getting colder by the day in Calgary by the way so I decided to pair my shirt with a waistcoat (scored for 4CAD) , culotte pants (an obsession, lol) and my pink shoes. I really love thrift shopping and finding unique items.
What’s happening this labor weekend?
Summer is over but the weather has been good thus far. I went to try the famous buttermilk fine waffles in Calgary and I have to say I totally loved it. The atmosphere is totally awesome and you can mix and match any two waffles for only 14 CAD. If you haven’t been and you are in Calgary, check it out.
I wore my moroccan style print set and you can definitely dress it up in different ways. The kimono style blazer was one reason I was excited about this outfit.
