First, what colour won’t you be caught dead in? I would love to know. Lime Green or Lime Punch is one of 2018’s Pantone colour of the year and has been seen in Spring/Summer 2018 collections. Lime Punch was used by, among others, Anya Hindmarch, Pringle of Scotland and Tom Ford. The first two used the colour for sportwear-inspired fashion, while Ford used the colour for an evening dress. Designer Marta Jakubowski used this shade to make eye-catching bodysuits, while NYC designer Maryam Nassir Zadeh created bold coats and jackets.
The great thing about Pinterest is that it inspires me to play with different colour combinations. I recently came across a colour palette that I am so excited to try during my next blog shoot. I asked a couple of my followers about my next hair do and I concluded on braided cornrows. My little sister calls me a sexy ant with this look, I guess I can take it lol. You know my love for linen this summer is growing so when I came across this pants at Oak and Fort in Chinook Mall, I wanted to have it. This pants are not on sale and they are cotton (not linen). I adore the colour and the high-waisted detail. Also, I was happy that I didn’t have to hem the pants #petitegirlproblems. For the petite girls out there, Oak and Fort definitely caters to our market so I guess they have truly found a customer.
Happy Memorial Day to my US readers, I am sure you are enjoying your extra Sunday. For the rest of my readers, hope you are excited for the week. I have to make a decision about my new hair-do, I am confused. I don’t know what look to go for (short, long or just con-rows). I am tired of wearing wigs, so I have to make a decision by tomorrow.
Lilac is the colour this year and it had to be in my lookbook. Fortunately, this likely dress made my dream come through. From the colour, the feminine touch with the thin straps and ruffle details, this dress is a complete winner in my book. Due to my busy schedule, I had to shoot 8 outfits for the blog. On a typical day, I shoot 3 looks for the blog, so 8 looks was absolutely tiring but we got it done.
It’s been a minute.
Sometime in December, I met a lady who I absolutely adore and advised me on savings. You know I am addicted to designer shoes and she said “Here’s the trick, don’t buy designer shoes at full price, buy them on sale”. I was like, it will be out of season and she said when you buy them at regular price, you still wear them out of season regardless. Guys, that was my lightbulb moment, and then I knew never again lol. So guys, I monitor prices on my phone, downloading boutique apps so I can get first dibs on my favourite shoes. That’s my secret. I bought this pair of Attico for 280 CDN. I came across the brand last year, owned by Italian designers Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini and launched February 2016. Attico in Italian means penthouse and is a collection of standout pieces for the modern muse.
I wanted a casual look for Friday and decided to pair my denim with off-the shoulder striped top.
Have a great day:)
